[09:42PM] [MibbitUser8368] When's the discord server starting up?
Never. I don't know why this is difficult to understand. Anyone who uses Discord servers is foolishly giving their personal data away to a corporation founded by a spyware developer with a history of doxxing people with crimethink opinions.
Further, you're relying on a massive centralized closed-source service that will sooner or later close down like all the others. There's no such thing as a Discord 'server". Discord is a centralized service, probably hosted on AWS, that creates a set of chatrooms for you, which are hosted on the same servers as everyone else and which is ultimately moderated by Discord and their trust and safety team - not you.
Lastly, and this is purely a technical reason, but Discord is built with Electron, a Chrome-based development that is absolute shit. I will never have a piece of Chrome or Chrome derived software on any of my computers, and the idea of developing desktop software by embedding a web browser to show web content is absolutely retarded and bloated.
In short, Discord is to chat software what Facebook is to forums. No.
